Schottky diode detection

Schottky diode (Schottky) is also called the Schottky diode (hereinafter referred to as SBD), it is a kind of low power consumption, ultra-high speed semiconductor devices, which are widely used in switching power supply, inverter, such as drive circuit, high frequency, low pressure, large current rectifier diode, fly-wheel diode, protecting diode is used, or in microwave communication and other circuit in the rectifier diode, small signal detection diode use.

1, performance comparison
Schottky diode is super fast recovery diodes, fast recovery rectifiers, silicon high frequency rectifier diode, silicon high speed switch diode performance comparison. Table shows, silicon high speed switch the diode TRR is very low, but the average rectifier current is small, cannot be big current rectifier with.

2, detection method
Below through an example to introduce the method of detecting schottky diode. Detection contents include: (1) identify electrode; (2) the inspection pipe unidirectional conductivity; (3) test is the wizard pressure drop VF; (4) measurement reverse breakdown voltage VBR.

Measured tube for B82-004 type schottky tube, a total of three pin, the contour as shown in figure 4 shows, in accordance with the tube feet from left to right order plaits of serial number (1), (2), (3). Choose the type 500 multimeter R x 1 file measurement.

Test conclusion:

Check the manual, B82-004 the highest reverse working voltage (namely peak reverse voltage) VBR = 40 v. Leave that higher safety coefficient.
